A Red Giant is a particular kind of star that exists in the universe. As stars begin to age, the temperature begins to rise near the core and it begins to run out of its fuel which is hydrogen. After some time the sun will soon lose the gravitational pull that it is using to pull all the planets into proportion. All the

planets except Mercury will begin to drift away. After this, it is expected that the earth will morph into the appearance that Venus currently resembles and our ecosystem of wildlife, water and nature will cease to exist. It is expected that our sun will become a Red Giant in appoximately 5 billion years or so. Red Giants are formed when the hydrogen in the core combines into helium it begins to change physically and internally. Now gravity will straight away come down on it with matter because their is no longer any fusion energy. The temperature then begins to dramatically rise. Soon after the star begins to expand greatly. As the star begins to cool down though, it takes on a reddish appearance. The star also becomes very bright. Then it forms into a Red Giant. Our sun is predicted to lose some mass once it has aged for some time. Red Giants are stars themselves at one point which later evolve into a larger star. Red Giants have variable weights as they depend on the size of the sun which turns into the Red Giant. Once a star has changed though into a red giant and the core becomes a white dwarf, the weight significantly rises. Red Giants have the same surface of a sun except a great deal hotter and they do not possess any water or life. As they are originally sun's, they still possess the light that it would have before. As stars grow older they soon turn into Red Giants. As the Red Giant is a ball of extreme heat and will grow in size, it will be impossible to sustain any life on it, let alone come near the Red Giant, especially if it is impossible to sustain life on the sun as it is. Overall scientists have a general idea on what can happen in 5 million years or so however it is impossible to get an accurate generalisation as it has not been witnessed before. If a Red Giant was to take place, our planet would no longer be the same and would resemble that of Venus.
