Nebula

A nebula is a cloud of interstellar gas and dust that forms in intergalactic space. The word nebula comes from the Latin word for cloud. Some nebulae are regions or places where new stars are being formed. Other Nebula's can be the remains of dead or dying stars. Nebulae come in many different shapes and sizes depending on the amount of gas and dust that forms in it. There are many types of nebulas but the four main types of nebulae are Planetary nebulae, Reflection nebulae, Emission nebulae, and Absorption nebulae. One of the main types of gas in a nebula is hydrogen, but you can also find helium and microscopic dust in a Nebula. A nebula is the first stage of a star cycle as it is the formation of a star. A nebulae is the plural form of nebula meaning more than one nebula. Some Nebula can be described a diffused nebula which means they are larger then most nebula because they are extended and have not well defined boundries.

Formation Of a Nebula

Many nebulae form from the gravitational collapse of diffuse gas in interstellar space. This means that when diffused gas collapses in interstella space due to high gravitational pressure a nebula is formed. After a nebula is formed the nebula's gas and dust can come closer together to form a protostar.
When the Nebula's material collapses under its own weight, massive stars form in the center, and their ultraviolet radiation changes the surrounding gas, making it visible at optical wavelengths. Some nebulas are formed from the explosion of a Supernova.

Types Of Nebulae

As Nebulae are clouds of gas and dust in outer space. These clouds are often very large, going on across many light years. There are many different kind of nebulae in the universe. The four main types of nebuae are the Planetary nebulae, Reflection nebulae, Emission nebulae, and Absorption nebulae.

PLANETARY NEBULAE
Even though these nebulae are called planets they have nothing to do with planets.A planetary nebulae is formed when a dying sun sized star begins to shed its outer layers. When the Sun begins to die it will expand, and become what is called a giant star. It will grow so large that it may engulf the Earth. After millions of years as a giant star the sun will again shrink down to its normal size. As it shrinks much of its surface layers will be shed leaving behind a beautiful ring. This ring is only visible for about 50,000 years. Over time the nebulae mixes into surrounding space eventually becoming too thin to see.

REFLECTION NEBULAE
The reflection Nebula is another type of nebulae, it is a blue cloud of dust and gas and mainly contains hydrogen. A reflection nebulae is mostly blue the because of the same reason as why our sky is blue ans that is because they reflect the light of a star. When light goes through a particle of dust, the blue colour in that light is spread , while the rest of the colours in the light can travel freely. This blue light travels around the cloud moving from different particles until it eventually escapes the cloud and reaches our eyes.

EMISSION NEBULAE
This cloud of gas and dust is called the emission nebulae because it gives (emits) its own light. As emission nebulae get their energy from nearby stars they turn red or pink as they extrac the used up energy that from them.

ABSORPTION (DARK) NEBULAE
An Absorption Nebulae is a nebulae that absorbs star light. These nebulae unlike the emission or reflection nebulae can't be seen by the normal eye in light. These nubulae are dense compared to the other 3 nebulae and they have a dark starless region.

Life

Life will never be able to be sustaied on any form of Nebula. As Questions have been proposed in the past as to whether there is any chance life will ever be able to be sustained on nubula the simple answer is no. As nebula is a cloud of gas and dust it is impossible for life to live or grow there. Other rasons why life will never be able to be sustained on Nebulae is becasue nebulae is in interstella space, and it is a forming star.
